Alice Di Concetto

I am the Chief Legal Advisor at the European Institute for Animal Law & Policy. I also lecture in animal ethics at Sciences Po in Paris. Previously, I was a Fellow at the Animal Law & Policy Program at Harvard Law School from 2016 to 2018. My publication record includes several law review articles in academic journals. I earned an LL.M. in Animal Law (2016) from Lewis & Clark Law School in the USA with a Fulbright grant, and I graduated from Sciences Po Law School in Paris with a Master’s in Law (2015).

Carolina Leiva Ilabaca

I am a lawyer and Junior Research Associate at the Cambridge Centre for Animal Rights Law. I hold a PhD in Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Chile, where I explored the intersection of, and the role and legal status of animals in, Criminal Law and Animal Rights Law in Chile and Spain. I teach Criminal Law at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), and I am a Visiting Professor at the University of Chile, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and the ANILEX programme (Open University, Åbo Akademi University, Finland), among others. I also hold a Master’s in Animal Law and Society from the UAB.

Edgar Meyer

I am an eco-animalist journalist. I have made environmentalism and antispeciesism both a professional and personal choice. I have worked in the ecology departments of the Province of Milan, the Municipality of Genoa, and the Municipality of Rome, with responsibilities relating to the human–non-human animal relationship. I work as a consultant for public and private institutions and am the author of various publications, books, and essays on animal rights, as well as on the history of parks and the ecological movement.

Jori Noordenbos

I am an animal enthusiast with a passion for dog behaviour, cognition, and their interaction with humans. I work as a research assistant for the Behavioural Ecology group at WUR, where I am involved in education and the supervision of students in the field of companion animal behaviour and welfare. In addition, I am pursuing my own PhD research on the social cognition of dogs. In my free time, I offer puppy classes to fellow dog owners and enjoy spending time with my own dog.

Elke Rauch

I am a veterinarian specialising in Animal Welfare and Animal Hygiene. I am an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Animal Welfare, Ethology, Animal Hygiene and Animal Husbandry at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, LMU Munich. I hold a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and completed my Habilitation at LMU Munich, focusing on the role of animal welfare and health indicators in promoting animal-friendly housing environments. I have received multiple awards, including the Animal Welfare Award of the Bavarian State Government and the Stockmeyer Science Prize. I am an active member of several professional organisations and currently serve as Deputy Head of the “Ethology and Animal Husbandry” section of the German Veterinary Society.
